Earlier this year, the East Staffordshire Borough Council’s Citizen’s Panel told us what they thought of our parks and waste collection service. The message was very positive, with 98% of the panel confirming they were either satisfied of very satisfied with our waste collection service. However, the panel did identified specific points where they felt we could improve.
One point raised by the Panel was for bins to be returned to the spot where they were presented for collection. Our collection crews, who strive to continuously improve the excellent customer service, have been reminded of this point.
Another suggestion raised was to improve the public toilets in our parks. This year we are implementing the investment plan set out in the public convenience review. This first phase of improvement works will see the toilets at Branston Water Park and Stapenhill gardens fully refurbished. Work to replace the pumping station at Branston Water Park will be starting soon.
Councillor Patricia Ackroyd, Deputy Leader for Built Environment, said: “It’s pleasing to see that 98% of the respondents are happy with the Council’s parks and waste collection service.
“However despite the excellent satisfactory rates there are always areas where we can improve. The Citizens Panel identified a couple of areas of our service which could be improved and we have acted upon that.”
“I would like to thank those who took part in the survey.”
