Mobile Parking Enforcement Trial
East Staffordshire Borough Council, in conjunction with Staffordshire County Council, will be carrying out a trial of mobile technology for parking enforcement for a period of two weeks commencing from Tuesday 02 October 2012.
This vehicle trial is aimed to look at how the new technology could be used to tackle inconsiderate parking outside schools as well as informing how we could carry out Civil Parking Enforcement in the future.
We know from local communities and Members that road safety outside schools is a key issue. The vehicle known as a ‘Smart Car’ uses Automatic Number Plate Recognition technology to capture information on vehicles parking in contravention of traffic orders.
