The Producers is a musical comedy written by Mel Brooks. It tells the
story of a Broadway Producer, Max Bialystock, who has fallen on very
hard times and is trying to find a new show so he can make some money.
When his accountant, Leo Bloom, shows up they devise a scheme to find
the worst show possible which flops and then run off with the money
from their backers. They set about finding a tasteless show, with a
dreadful story line, a bad producer and one which nobody wants to
watch. Unfortunately for them, the show is a complete success and
their scam is discovered. The show has wonderful chorus numbers,
costumes , dancing and humour.
