The BBC’s Springwatch presenter Chris Packham will be visiting the award-winning Conkers attraction in The National Forest, offering visitors his insights into the natural world.

Television presenter Chris Packham is a wildlife expert, photographer and author with a passion for conservation and the environment. He has travelled the world extensively in pursuit of all things that slime, sting and scratch.

The event will be an awareness-raising campaign aimed at encouraging families to learn more about the environment and natural world, whether it be in their back garden or a local park.

Chris will be taking visitors on a journey through some of the world’s key habitats and be taking part in a book signing for his newly released, Chris Packham’s Nature Handbook. Visitors not only have the chance to gain an insight in to the natural world, but also to meet the wildlife expert in person.

Families can connect with the wildlife that live around the grounds and discover how the natural world really works through exploring the sights, sounds and smells. They will learn about the plants, animals, weather and ecological processes at work and find out how best to interact with the wild while still conserving it.

The event is sure to be a fantastic day, appealing to both the young and older generations in an informative and educational, yet very fun and light hearted manner.

Chris Packham will be in the covered amphitheatre from 2pm until 4pm.
