Accordionist Karen Street reveals the influences behind her music, playing songs from her latest album ‘Another Story’. Featuring a selection of jazz standards, original tunes and a pop song, she ably demonstrates the diverse nature of this versatile instrument.

Karen’s skill as an accordionist, saxophonist and composer ensures she is in demand for a range of projects: from Ute Lemper and Willard White; Grace Jones and Martha Wainwright to the Mike Westbrook Orchestra and BBC Philharmonic. This colourful and varied musical experience was a key influence in the development of ‘Another Story’. Playing with her are Fred Baker, guitar, Andy Hamill , bass and Sara Colman vocals.
Fred T Baker has had a glittering and musically varied career playing with John Etheridge, Ric Sanders, Nigel Kennedy, John Dankworth and Courtney Pine. Sara Colman was one of the elite group of artists selected for the Jerwood series of Rising Star concerts at the Cheltenham Festival and received one of the inaugural Birmingham Jazz Awards in 2006. Andy Hamill has played double bass and bass guitar with many artists from jazz to pop, including: Nitin Sawhney, Beth Rowley, Tracey Thorn, Kylie Minogue and Harry Hill.
