Tues 30th Oct - Photography Walk in Burton
Photo Walk Aims for Second Success
Following the outstanding success of this month’s Autumn Photography Walk around stapenhill Hollows, East Staffordshire Borough Council has arranged another one.
On October 2nd the Parks and Countryside team at East Staffordshire Borough Council organised a guided walk for ramblers and photographers alike.
The event proved to be a great success, enjoyed by all those taking part and with everyone learning something no matter what level they started at.
Because the first walk proved to be so popular, another one has been organised for Tuesday 30th October, from 2.00pm to 4.00pm.
Again, walkers and photographers are invited to meet Park Rangers at stapenhill Hollows car park, stapenhill Road.
The walk will be led by local wildlife and nature photographer Michael Bott who is happy to share knowledge and experience and will be passing on tried and tested tips.
Councillor Philip Atkins, Deputy Leader for Health and Leisure, said: “Don’t miss your chance to join this walk. With this year’s late summer, the autumn colours and scenery are spectacular and offers a fantastic chance to take photographs to enter in ESBC’s competition.
“It doesn’t matter if you are a complete beginner or experienced photographer.”
Walkers are encouraged to bring their camera, a tripod if they have one and to wear suitable footwear and clothing for the weather. There is a small charge of £2 for the guided walk.
Call the Parks and Countryside team on 01283 508724 to book your place.
Anyone who thinks they have a good shot is also invited to take part in the Council’s Amateur Photo Competition.
There are three categories - Nature/Landscape, Floral and Fun – and entry forms are available from Parks and Countryside team on the number above.
Completed entries can be returned to Glyn Handley, ESBC, Freepost DY834, Burton upon Trent, DE14 1BR and the closing date is 31st Jan 2008.
The Burton Photographic Society will be judging the photos and there are prizes for the winning entries.
