* What’s On in Burton This Weekend *

Thursday 4th February

Tonight there’s the Burton College Directing Showcase at The Brewhouse and a Comedy Night at 99 Station Street.  There’s also The Antique Six performing at Burton Jazz Club and Grandpa T.Smith performing at the award winning Northern Renegades Country Music Club.

Friday 5th February

Tomorrow night, The Carrivick Sisters are performing at The Brewtown Folk Club at The Old Cottage Tavern and Dark Horses are performing at The Wetmore Whistle.

Saturday 6th February

During the day on Saturday there is a Medieval Costume Lecture Brunch at Sharpe’s Pottery Museum in Swadlincote and Burton Albion are at home to Port Vale.

In the evening there’s James Bowman in concert at Lichfield Cathedral and Red Sky High are performing at The Wetmore Whistle.

Sunday 7th February

On Sunday there’s more live music with a choice of Rubicon at The Roebuck or Travelling Riverside Blues at The Wetmore Whistle.

Cineworld cinema highlights this week include advance showings of ‘The Wolfman’ as well as ‘The Princess and the Frog’, ‘Astro Boy’, ‘Youth in Revolt’, ‘Edge of Darkness’, ‘The Book of Eli’, ‘It’s Complicated’, ‘Sherlock Holmes’, ‘Alvin and the Chipmunks 2: The Squeakquel’, ‘Avatar 3D’ and ‘St.Trinian’s 2: The Legend of Fritton’s Gold’.
