Burton on Trent Taxi Awards 2007

East Staffordshire Borough Council have just completed their 2nd Taxi Driver and Company of the year awards.  1,300 votes were cast which is a 90% increase on last year.

Driver of the Year 2007 was Mr Malcolm Lees who works for Malcolms Taxis.  Mr Lees was chosen because of his respect for disabled passengers, maintaining an immaculate taxi and offering to assist wherever possible.
He received a framed certificate, a commemorative shield and a free Combined Driver Licence for one year.

Taxi Company of the Year has been awarded to Dells for their exceptional customer service, especially to their disabled customers.  The company has received a framed certificate, a commemorative shield and a free operator licence for one year.

A formal presentation took place where the winners were presented with their prizes by Councillor Liz Staples, Chairman of the Licensing Committee who said  “The response to the competition was excellent. Its a great way for the people of East Staffordshire to show their appreciation for the effort and hard work of local taxi firms and their drivers”.
