Burton on Trent Man in Ant Attack

Mar 5th, 2007 | By Editor | Category: Burton Stuff

A golf professional from Burton was recently caught doing a ‘Full Monty’ when he was attacked by ants!

Richard Bland’s impromptu strip was at the Johnnie Walker Classic in Phuket, Thailand. During his final round, the 34-year-old Englishman was trying to play his second shot at the 5th hole when he was attacked by a colony of ants. Despite the best efforts of his caddie who tried to beat them away with a towel, Bland, in full view of the galleries and TV cameras, opted to remove his trousers and shirt in a bid to send the blighters packing. Not that he was unduly concerned. “When you’ve got a body as good as mine,” joked the 14-stone pro from Burton on Trent, “you don’t have to worry.”
