* What’s On in Burton This Weekend *

Tonight there’s Sonny Monk’s Society Jazz Band at Burton Jazz Club, Ken Durrans is performing at The Northern Renegades Country Music Club and there’s a comedy night at The Wetmore Whistle.

Tomorrow is the last day to visit the Swadfest Art Exhibition at Swadlincote Town Hall and there’s also live music at the Burnt Gate in Anslow.

Tomorrow and continuing on Saturday there’s a dance showcase at The Brewhouse where you can see children from Towerview Primary School and St.Wystan’s School Repton showcasing their dance talents.

Also on Friday, Saturday and Sunday there’s the National Forest Folk Festival at Conkers that features loads of artists including Seth Lakeman, Kerfuffle and the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain!

On Saturday The Trevor Burton Band are performing at The Wetmore Whistle and there’s an evening of ghostly stories at Sharpe’s Pottery Museum in Swadlincote.

On Sunday you have a choice of seeing Victorian Redcoats at Tutbury Castle, a bird walk at Croxall Reservoir, a Summer Fete at Fountains School in Stretton and live Sunday afternoon music at The Wetmore Whistle.

Cineworld cinema highlights this week include ‘Ice Age -Dawn of the Dinosaurs 3D’, ‘Public Enemies’, ‘Year One’, ‘My Sister’s Keeper’, ‘Transformers – Revenge of the Fallen’, ‘The Hangover’ and ‘Terminator Salvation’.
