Prize Bonanza for Mayor’s Raffle

A multitude of prizes from health spa days to umbrellas are up for grabs as part of a charity raffle being held by this year’s outgoing Mayor of East Staffordshire, Councillor Geoff Morrison.

Items have been donated from all over the borough, from businesses and individuals, to create one of the biggest raffle prize giveaways ever held by a sitting Mayor.

Items from a two-day/one night stay at the luxurious Hoar Cross Hall – the only spa resort in a stately home in England, a VIP tour of JCB headquarters including lunch, a round of golf for four people at Branston golf Club to Pirelli jackets, coats, calendars and umbrellas, bottles of brandy, whiskey, wine or gin, Hannah Montana wall hangings, tools and toys will be handed to the lucky winners.

All the money raised will go towards the hundreds already raised for the Mayor’s chosen charities, which this year were YMCA Burton, the Royal British Legion Welfare Fund and the Ageing Well Scheme in Uttoxeter.

“I’ve had a wonderful year as Mayor of East Staffordshire and met some lovely people who have helped me raise money,” said Councillor Morrison.

“This is going to be our last big push to try and raise just a little more cash for these worthy causes.”

Tickets cost £1 each and are available from the Town Hall by calling 01283 208474 or emailing susan.siddall@eaststaffsbc.gov.uk

Alternatively the Mayor will be out and about selling tickets at upcoming events.

The draw for the prizes will take place on Wednesday, May 12th and winners will be notified.
