Need Ideas for the Half Term Holiday?

Children from across Burton on Trent and East Staffordshire can get creative this February half term with a series of fun workshops from the Council’s Green Spaces team.
On Tuesday, February 16th, help celebrate Chinese New Year with free workshops at Burton and Uttoxeter libraries, then on Wednesday you can try your hand at Nest Box Building at the Greenhouse, Burton.
Finally on Thursday, February 18th, children can enjoy some free fun in the park with a Play Day in Barton under Needwood.
Full details on each event are below:
Tuesday 16th February – free Chinese New Year workshops at Uttoxeter Library between 10.00am and 11.00am and 11.00am to 12noon. Call Uttoxeter Library on 01889 256371 to book.
Tuesday 16th February – free Chinese lantern making workshops at Burton Library between 3.00pm and 4.00pm and 4.00pm to 5.00pm with Lantern Parade at 5.00pm (weather permitting). Call Burton Library on 01283 239556 to book.
Wednesday 17th February – Nest Box Building workshops at The Greenhouse Centre between 10.00am to 11.00am and 2.00pm to 3.00pm. Build your own nest box to take home for your garden birds. Children must be at least seven-years-old and accompanied by an adult. Cost is £5 per nest box (accompanying adults are free). Call 01283 508724 to book your place.
Thursday 18th February – Play Day at Oak Road Park, Barton under Needwood from 12noon to 3.00pm. Wrap up warm and bring your family and friends for some free fun in the park. No need to book, just turn up and join in.
