Council Services Affected by Snow
Jan 6th, 2010 | By Chris Towland | Category: Burton Stuff, Info Snippets
Due to the extreme weather conditions that have hit the area in the last few hours, East Staffordshire Borough Council has been forced to temporarily close or suspend some of its services today, Wednesday, January 6th.
Bin Collections
Waste collection vehicles are still out today but are struggling to access some rural areas and side streets so there may be some disruption to the service across the borough.
As soon as we have a clearer idea of what areas have been affected we will let residents know of alternative arrangements. In the meantime if you have further questions please call the Environment Services helpline on 0800 269098.
Shopmobility
Burton’s Shopmobility service will also be closed for safety reasons as it could be dangerous to let scooters out in the current conditions.
Sports pitches
Shobnall Leisure complex’s outdoor facilities will not be available again, but for any other enquiries about the availability of indoor facilities please call 01283 518180.
